This site has been created to provide information on the Oxford band Heavenly.
Heavenly was known in underground scene, labeled "twee" (a musical style with cute melodies and vocals). Members were Amelia Fletcher (vocals, guitar), her brother Mathew Fletcher (drums), Peter Momtchiloff (guitar), Rob Pursey (bass) and Cathy Rogers (vocals, keyboard).
Young musicians recorded songs for Sarah Records and caught attention of press and Calvin Johnson (Beat Happening), who would help them in his label, K Records (he knew them before through band Talulah Gosh that Amelia, Matthew and Pete were members).
As soon as K Records got known for their innovative bands, Heavenly got heard and positive reviews appeared in several US magazines, like CMJ.

From 1989/90 to 1996, the band released 4 full albums, 7 singles and one excellent EP (P.U.N.K. Girl).
Before releasing "Operation Heavenly", their story tragically ended in June 96 with death of Mathew Fletcher.
In 98, remaining members form a new band with help of DJ Downfall, and Marine Research appears - with album "Songs from the Gulf Stream", released in US by K Records and in Europe by Elephant in August 99.

Now, another page of story is opened. It's time of Tender trap, new band of DJ, Rob and Amelia. Band formed in 2002 and just released a new album. Keep informed about latest news at their new site: http://listen.tendertrap. We soon may have more news.
Cathy has a TV show and Pete is playing in the band Sportique as well as other side-projects.

You can catch the band on tour, they are constantly playing in UK with other nice bands.
